The non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirms that a failure to comply with the Democrats’ nationalized health mandate can lead to 5 years imprisonment and criminal fines of up to a quarter of a million dollars!
Here are the stunning facts released by Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee U.S. Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail.
The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
This is not the game of Monopoly, folks, where drawing the Go Directly to Jail card is part of an entertaining amusement that is forgotten once the board is folded up and put away. We are talking about our own government forcefully compelling citizens to comply with their socialized scheme or face major consequences.
According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under Nancy Pelosi’s bill would tally in at $15,000 per year in 2016.
